The Standardbred Fan Club's rescue seeks out pacers that can no longer race and are headed for auction where killbuyers from one of British Columbia's four horse slaughter houses wait to outbid others for the healthy Standardbred horses that will end up in Asian and European continents for human consumption. The Club tries to rehome as many horses as possible and houses some of the horses also. Many of the horses can continue with retraining to promising careers as wonderful riding companions and some can even start new careers in riding competition.
