Standardbred Fan Club
I adopted "You're Just Jellis" from a rescue about 8 months ago. He is just like everyone describes their Standardbreds, sweet, trusting, fearless and willing to do anything you ask despite the starvation and neglect he has been through.
JJ has taught me about driving and we've started conditioning for limited distance in Endurance Driving. JJ has shown me that Standardbreds are have a huge heart and are incredibly strong!
Now every time I look at JJ I wonder if he was ever bred and think about the history of these magnificent horses and how versatile they are.
I knew there was something special about him the first time I saw him. I got curious about his breeding and tracked his lineage. I discovered he is a direct descendant from Dan Patch and Billy Direct, the two fastest Standardbreds from 1906-2006! Now every time I look at JJ I wonder if he was ever bred and think about the history of these magnificent horses and how versatile they are.
There is not much he isn't willing to do, which from what I have read, is a common trait of these wonderful horses!

I have been riding, training and loving horses for over 30 years, and JJ is my first Standardbred! I do not believe he will be my last!
